America is in one of the worst financial predicaments in its history. America no longer enjoys the highest possible financial rating of AAA from the top world financial organizations, something it has held ever since 1941. You may wonder why, or you may actually already know why this has happened and why it is only going to get worse not better.
I would ask you, do you think we are headed for a recovery, or a disaster? If you think we are headed for recovery then I would have to ask you, what do you base your belief on? Is it the dismal unemployment figures? Is it the Unaffordable Healthcare Act? Is it the numerous wars springing up all over the world? Is it the corrupt banking system? Is it the disappearing middle class? Is it the exponential growth of government power? Is it the disappearing American industrial complex? Is it the inability of Congress to pass a budget? Is it our inability to educate our children about the world, let alone about being financially responsible? Is it the increasing number of people in poverty? Is it the growing number of grown children moving back in with their parents? Is it the decreasing net worth of average Americans? Is it the increasing number of people on welfare? Is it all the economic stimulus bills that Congress has passed?
Or is it Congress’ unabated spending and debt ceiling? How can anyone support an economic policy that believes that you can spend your way out of debt? That is what we are being told by those making the decisions for this country. We are being told that we need to spend our way out of the crisis. But how can you spend more of something you don’t have? You borrow more of it, of course.
I challenge anyone to tell me where in the economics textbooks it says the best way to increase your wealth is through uncontrolled spending and borrowing. I challenge anyone to find a financial adviser that will give them that kind of advice for their personal finances. Then I challenge you to take that advice in your personal finances and see where it gets you. What would you say if a financial adviser actually gave you that advice? Would you laugh in his face and refuse to pay him? If not, then you’re as dumb as the people who buy into the government’s plan for the country’s financial future.
I’m sure they will tell you that it’s different for people and governments. Don’t believe it! Economics is economics regardless of who it applies to. You cannot spend or borrow your way out of debt no matter what anyone tells you. That kind of thinking is no different than thinking you can get rich by spending all of your money on one single bet at the track. I don’t want gamblers running our government and you shouldn’t either. Actually I would be happier about it, if there was an actual outside chance that this method would work for our government, but you have a better chance of winning at the track, than winning by using the present economic plan in place in Washington.
So what do economists say about turning around one’s financial situation? They will all tell you to get a budget and stick to it. They will tell you that the budget should include spending cuts and debt reduction. That is the exact opposite of what Washington is doing for America. Our great news media continues to go along with whatever the liberal side of Washington says regardless of how ridiculous it may be. Thus the people are bombarded with the lie and buy it hook line and sinker.
This entire economic philosophy is a false philosophy because it is based of falsehoods. Just like the person residing in the White House, it is fake and worthless. If we want to turn this economy around we are going to have to force Washington to do it, because they have no plan to do so. We are going to have to cut the government’s spending and borrowing any way we can. The best way is at the voting booth. If you elect someone and they don’t work for America’s economic recovery in a logical manner, then you should voice your outrage. Write them, call them, email them, do everything in your power to be heard, and if that doesn’t get them to repent, then vote them out.
If you don’t show your disappointment how will they ever know you are disappointed? If you don’t let your voice be heard then they will assume you don’t care, or worse yet, you support their actions. America can’t afford their callus spending nor our callus attitude toward our government. If we don’t participate in our government it is no longer our government, but their government.
It is amazing how many people are in an uproar over the government shutdown. But where was the outrage when Washington failed to pass a budget these past five years? Where was the outrage when the national debt was raised to a level that it will be virtually impossible to recover from? Where was the outrage every time Congress passed a bill or tax that they excluded themselves from?
People… this government is supposed to be for us, not against us. Congress has adapted an attitude of us and them. They are no longer part of us. They fill their pockets with our money and reward themselves with elaborate perks while giving us their table scrapes. How many of you are aware of the fact that as we are losing a huge part of our net worth, Congress is getting richer? They shutdown the government and stop paying a large part of the government workers while still paying themselves. No matter what happens in America, Congress continues to get rich. If they were truly in Congress to help the American people they would not let the lowly workers suffer while they profited. That should show you that they really don’t care about us. They really don’t care about America. They don’t really care about America’s financial stability, because if they did they would not spend and borrow with such abandonment.
So why do they spend and borrow with such abandonment? They do it to pay for the votes that got them into office. They made so many promises to the voters that they have to borrow the money to spend it on the “entitlements” the voters are expecting. It is a vicious cycle and there doesn’t seem to be any way to stop it. We will never stop it as long as Americans are willing to take handouts in exchange for our integrity and rights.
America’s entire economics debacle is our own fault because we have handed our government over to the elitists in Washington and expected them to care about us. They don’t care about us, but do you? Do you care about the American people and the American economy? Or do you just say you do like the talking heads in Washington?
